Getting Started with ZynoTalk Mobile
ZynoTalk MobileZynoTalk Mobile is a dedicated VoIP calling app that lets you make and receive business phone calls from your mobile device using your ZynoTalk access.
Why a Separate App?
ZynoTalk Mobile exists as its own app — separate from ZynoSuite Mobile — because deep calling integration requires capabilities that go beyond a general-purpose business app. Specifically:
- Incoming call handling — The app integrates with your phone's native call interface so incoming business calls ring like regular phone calls.
- Background operation — The app maintains a persistent connection to receive calls even when it is not in the foreground.
- Audio management — VoIP calls require direct control over audio routing, Bluetooth devices, and call audio.
These requirements are best served by a purpose-built app. Use ZynoSuite Mobile for Customers & Contacts, ZynoSales, and general features, and ZynoTalk Mobile when you need to make and receive phone calls.
Download
ZynoTalk Mobile is available on:
- iOS — iPhone, via the App Store
- Android — via Google Play
The app requires iOS 15.1 or later, or Android 8.0 (API level 26) or later.
Signing In
- Open ZynoTalk Mobile after installation.
- Sign in with the same credentials you use for ZynoSuite (email and password, Google, or Microsoft).
- Complete MFA verification if prompted.
After signing in, ZynoTalk connects to your organization's ZynoTalk phone system automatically. The app shows the extensions and caller ID options available to your account.
Permissions
ZynoTalk requests permissions as needed:
- Microphone — Required for call audio. Calls cannot be made without this permission.
- Notifications — Required to alert you of incoming calls and missed calls.
- Phone permission on Android — Required by Android for placing and answering calls through the phone system.
- Camera and photo library — Used only when attaching photos to picture messages.
Grant microphone and notification permissions for normal calling. On Android, also allow phone permission if the app asks for it.
Making Your First Call
- Open ZynoTalk Mobile and ensure you are signed in.
- Tap the dialpad icon to open the dialer.
- Enter the phone number you want to call, or search for a contact.
- If you have multiple caller ID options, select the one you want to call from.
- Tap the call button to start the call.
During a call, you have access to standard call controls: mute, hold, speaker, and keypad for DTMF tones.
Receiving Calls
When a call is routed to a mobile-enabled extension, ZynoTalk rings your device using the native call interface. You can answer, decline, or send the call to voicemail just like a regular phone call.
TIP
Make sure ZynoTalk is allowed to run in the background and that notifications are enabled. If the app is force-closed or notifications are disabled, you may miss incoming calls.
Call History and Voicemail
ZynoTalk displays your recent call history directly in the app. You can see incoming, outgoing, and missed calls along with call duration and timestamps.
If you have voicemail enabled, missed calls that go to voicemail appear in the voicemail tab. You can listen to voicemail recordings and view transcriptions (if AI transcription is enabled for your organization).
