Glossary
This glossary defines common ZynoSuite terms in user-facing language.
A
Admin A user with access to organization setup and configuration. Admins can manage users, roles, locations, payment settings, integrations, and module settings.
Admin Panel The configuration area for ZynoSuite. In the app, admin pages are grouped under Identity & Access, General, ZynoCRM, ZynoSales, and ZynoTalk.
B
Booking A scheduled sale for an appointment, class, reservation, activity, or other time-based service.
Bookable Product A product that creates or joins a booking when sold. Examples include appointments, classes, lanes, lessons, or timed activities.
Browser Push Notification A notification delivered by your web browser after you allow notifications for ZynoSuite.

Card Reader A portable Stripe reader used with ZynoSuite Mobile to accept in-person card payments.
Card Terminal A Stripe payment terminal registered to a location and used from ZynoWorkstation.
Cash Session A tracked cash-drawer period, usually tied to a shift or workstation. Cash sessions help staff count starting cash, record cash payments, and reconcile drawer totals.
Closeout A summary of sales and payments for a location and business day. Managers use closeouts to reconcile cash, cards, custom payment methods, and deposits.
Contact A ZynoCRM record in ZynoSuite. Contacts can include names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, files, form submissions, and non-transaction profile details.
Customer A contact acting in a sales, booking, payment, receipt, refund, deposit, membership, saved-card, or other transaction context.
Custom Payment Method An administrator-defined payment method, such as store credit, house account, comp, voucher, or another business-specific tender type.

Daily Closeout An end-of-day closeout for a location. It summarizes payment totals and helps managers reconcile the day.
Display Device A screen, kiosk, tablet, or Android display managed by ZynoDisplay.

Fingerprint Login A Workstation sign-in method that uses a supported fingerprint reader instead of repeated username and password entry.
Fulfillment The workflow for shipping, pickup, packing slips, labels, batches, and order status after a sale.

Gift Card Stored value that can be sold, delivered, and redeemed as a payment method in Salespoint.
I
Install A registered Workstation app installation. ZynoSuite uses the install identity for workstation naming, hardware access, payment terminal routing, and audit history.
In-App Notification A banner, badge, sidebar dock row, status icon, or alert shown inside ZynoSuite while you are signed in.
Identity Provider The Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace connection used for single sign-on.

Location A physical or logical place where your organization operates, such as a store, front desk, warehouse, or service location.
M
Member A customer enrolled in a membership program.
Membership A recurring or managed customer benefit program. Memberships can provide discounts, credits, access, or other benefits when a member is attached to a sale.
MFA Multi-factor authentication. In ZynoSuite user workflows, this most commonly appears through Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace sign-in policies, Workstation fingerprint login, or secure ZynoRMM prompts.
Mobile Card Reader The portable card reader used by ZynoSuite Mobile. It is different from a Workstation card terminal.
Mobile Push Notification A notification delivered by iOS or Android for ZynoSuite Mobile or ZynoTalk Mobile.
O
One-Time Code A temporary code used by a specific app or secure workflow. The standard ZynoSuite web sign-in screen does not currently offer one-time-code login.
P
Payment Terminal The in-person Stripe terminal used from ZynoWorkstation. The Salespoint payment button is labeled CC Terminal.
Passkey A WebAuthn-compatible authenticator such as Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, YubiKey, or another FIDO2 security key. In current ZynoSuite user workflows, passkeys are used by identity providers or secure ZynoRMM workflows rather than as a general ZynoSuite web sign-in option.
Product An item or service that can be sold. Products can be fixed-price, variable-price, gift cards, memberships, packages, e-commerce products, or bookable services.
R
Receipt The buyer-facing proof of sale. Receipts can be sent by email or text message, and printed from Workstation when a receipt printer is configured.
Refund A return of money to the customer. Card refunds go back through the original card payment. Cash, check, gift card, and custom refunds are recorded on the sale according to the payment type.
ZynoRMM Remote monitoring and management tools for MSP workflows. ZynoRMM appears in the ZynoSuite launcher only for users with access.

Sale A completed transaction in ZynoSales.
Salespoint The register screen where staff add items, attach customers, take payment, send receipts, save tabs, and complete sales.
Saved Card A card payment method stored on a customer record and available for future payments when the customer is attached to the sale.
Saved Tab A sale that has been saved for later instead of completed immediately. Saved tabs can be reopened from Salespoint.
Split Payment A sale paid with more than one payment method or more than one payment amount.
Stripe Account The payment-processing account connected under Admin > ZynoSales > Payments, on the Stripe Account tab.
T
Tab An in-progress sale in Salespoint. A tab can be open, saved, closed, reopened, or deleted depending on its status and payment history.
Tenant The technical name for an organization or business account in ZynoSuite. User-facing docs usually say organization or business unless the app says tenant.
W
Workstation The installed ZynoSuite Windows app used for hardware-connected stations such as registers, front desks, and service counters.
Z
ZynoSuite Mobile The iOS/Android app for mobile access to ZynoSuite workflows, including mobile Salespoint and mobile card reader payments.
ZynoSuite Web The browser-based ZynoSuite app.
ZynoTalk Mobile The dedicated iOS/Android app for native business calling with ZynoTalk numbers.
