ZynoWorkstation

Workstation

ZynoWorkstation is a dedicated Windows application. It provides the full ZynoSuite experience in a native window and adds hardware integration capabilities that browsers cannot provide, including fingerprint readers for fast login, local printers, cash drawers, barcode readers, and direct payment terminal connections for card processing.

Why Use Workstation?

Workstation is built for fixed-location use — front desks, registers, service counters, and back offices where the same PC is used throughout the day by one or more team members.

Hardware Integration

Workstation communicates directly with connected hardware:

  • Fingerprint readers — staff can log in or switch users with a fingerprint tap instead of typing credentials. This is especially useful in high-traffic environments where multiple employees share a single workstation. See Fingerprint Authentication for supported devices and setup.
  • Payment terminals — process card payments through a connected terminal without manual entry or browser workarounds. See Payment Terminals for configuration details.
  • Receipt printers — print receipts directly from the POS after a sale.
  • Cash drawers — automatically open the cash drawer when a cash payment is processed.
  • Barcode readers — scan product barcodes to quickly add items to a sale or look up inventory.
  • Label printers — print inventory labels and shipping labels.
  • 8x11 printers — assign a standard full-page printer for workstation print workflows.

Session Management

Workstation uses the same ZynoSuite sign-in flow as the web app, but workstation installs can use a separate idle-timeout setting from browser sessions. Shared stations should be configured to return to sign-in quickly when inactive. Trusted personal stations can use Keep me signed in when your organization allows it.

If a workstation signs out sooner or later than expected, ask an administrator to review the workstation and authentication settings.

Workstation Identity

Each Workstation installation is registered with your ZynoSuite tenant and given a name (for example, "Front Desk" or "Register 2"). This identity ties into reporting and audit trails, so you can see which workstation processed a transaction, which terminal was used for a payment, and who was signed in at the time.

What You Get

Workstation provides the same complete feature set as ZynoSuite Web:

  • Customers & Contacts, ZynoSales & POS, ZynoTalk, ZynoInventory, ZynoForms, ZynoDisplay, Administration, and ZynoRMM when enabled
  • Built-in softphone for ZynoTalk calls
  • Full reporting and management tools

The difference is how you interact with it: native window, hardware support, and session management designed for all-day use.
