Fingerprint Login
WorkstationFingerprint login lets users sign in to ZynoWorkstation with a supported fingerprint reader. It is intended for shared or hardware-connected workstations where entering an email address and password repeatedly would slow staff down.
Fingerprint login is available only in ZynoWorkstation, not normal browser sign-in.
Requirements
To use fingerprint login:
- The workstation must be running ZynoWorkstation.
- A supported fingerprint reader must be attached.
- ZynoWorkstation must detect the reader.
- The user must have permission to manage fingerprints, or an administrator must enroll fingerprints for the user.
- The user must have at least one enrolled fingerprint.
If the reader is attached after ZynoWorkstation is already running, restart Workstation so the reader can be detected.
Enroll Your Own Fingerprints
- Sign in to ZynoWorkstation.
- Open the user menu from the sidebar or Quick Access Bar.
- Select Manage Fingerprints.
- Select a gray fingerprint slot.
- Press the requested finger on the reader for 1 second, then release.
- Repeat until 5 samples have been collected.
- Select Done after enrollment is complete.
Enrolled fingerprints appear as blue fingerprints. Select a blue fingerprint to remove it.
Administrator Enrollment
Administrators can manage a user's fingerprints from Admin > Identity & Access > Users by selecting the number in the fingerprint column for that user.
The enrollment flow is the same, but the modal shows the selected user's name.
Sign In With Fingerprint
On a registered ZynoWorkstation with a detected reader, the sign-in screen shows Sign in with fingerprint.
Place an enrolled finger on the reader. If the fingerprint is recognized, ZynoSuite signs in the matching user.
If fingerprint sign-in fails, use username and PIN/password if available, then re-enroll fingerprints if needed.
Remove Fingerprints
- Open Manage Fingerprints.
- Select a blue fingerprint.
- Confirm removal.
The modal may also show fingerprints that are not associated with a particular finger. Remove those and re-enroll them to a specific finger.
Troubleshooting
If fingerprint login is not available:
- Confirm you are using ZynoWorkstation, not a browser.
- Confirm the reader is connected and supported.
- Restart ZynoWorkstation after connecting the reader.
- Confirm the user has permission to manage fingerprints.
- Confirm the user has an enrolled fingerprint.
