Configuring a Device

WebWorkstation

Once a screen is registered, select it in the Devices list to open Configure Device. This is where you name the device, confirm where it lives, check its health, and get to its screens and controls.

Permission Required

You need the Configure Displays permission to open and edit a device. See Permissions & Troubleshooting.

Open a Device

Open ZynoDisplay, go to Devices, and select the device's row. The Configure Device window opens with tabs:

  • Identity — name, location, and device status.
  • Screens — the content and schedules for each screen on the device. See Screens & Outputs.
  • Device — remote hardware controls, shown only for devices that support them. See Remote Control & Device Management.

Identity

On the Identity tab you can set:

  • Name — a label you'll recognize, such as "Lobby Video Wall" or "Drive‑Thru #2". This is how the device appears throughout ZynoDisplay.
  • Location — where the screen lives. The location provides the time zone that schedules use, so keep it accurate.

The tab also shows read‑only status facts reported by the device, which can include:

  • Connection and Sync state
  • Type, operating system, and app version
  • Battery level and charging state (on phones and tablets)
  • Storage usage

For what these indicators mean and how to act on them, see Status & Monitoring.

Assigning Content

Content is set per screen on the Screens tab — pick a default, add schedules, or have the screen inherit content from a group. For the full walkthrough see Assigning Content and Screens & Outputs.

Saving

Save your changes from the Configure Device window. Connected devices apply updates right away; a disconnected device picks them up the next time it comes online.
