Permissions & Troubleshooting
WebWorkstationPermissions
ZynoDisplay access is controlled by a few permissions an administrator assigns through roles. See the Permissions Reference for the full list.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| ZynoDisplay access | Open the Display workspace and view devices, groups, playlists, and media. |
| Register Device | Pair new screens with your organization. |
| Configure Displays | Edit devices, screens, content, schedules, groups, playlists, and media; run live controls and bulk actions. |
Showing a ZynoForm on a screen also requires ZynoForms access.
TIP
If someone can see screens but can't change them, they likely have ZynoDisplay access without Configure Displays. If they can't add new screens, they're missing Register Device.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What To Check |
|---|---|
| ZynoDisplay is missing from the launcher | Confirm the account has ZynoDisplay access. |
| Register Device is missing | The account needs the Register Device permission. |
| Can't open or edit a device | The account needs the Configure Displays permission. |
| A registration code is rejected | Re‑check all 9 digits and confirm you're reading the current code on the device. See Registering a Device. |
| A device shows Disconnected | Check power, network, and that the player app is running. See Status & Monitoring. |
| A screen is blank | No content is assigned, or a schedule sets it blank now. See Assigning Content and Scheduling & Dayparting. |
| Schedules fire at the wrong time | Set the device's Location correctly — it provides the time zone. See Configuring a Device. |
| Content won't update | The device must be connected to sync. See Status & Monitoring. |
| A live override or control does nothing | Real‑time controls only reach connected devices. See Live Overrides & Playback Controls. |
| A screen is marked missing | The device stopped reporting that screen; it returns when reconnected. See Screens & Outputs. |
| ZynoForm isn't available for a screen | Confirm ZynoForms access and that the device supports forms. See Content Types. |
| Media is stuck processing or failed | See the guidance in Media Library. |
