Content Types
WebWorkstationWhenever you set what a screen shows — a screen's default, a group default, a schedule rule, or a live override — you choose a content type. They all use the same picker.
The Types
| Type | What the screen shows |

| Blank | Nothing — a black screen. Useful for off‑hours. |
| Single media | One image or video from your Media Library. |
| Playlist | A reusable saved playlist that loops. |
| Media playlist | A quick, one‑off list of library media, built inline without saving a playlist. |
| Web page | A website, by URL. |
| ZynoForm | An interactive ZynoForm shown on the screen. |
TIP
For content you'll reuse or change often, prefer a saved playlist — edit it once and every screen using it updates. Use a media playlist for a quick, one‑screen sequence you won't reuse.
Options
Depending on the type, you may also set:
- Image duration — how long an image shows. Videos always play their full length.
- Play audio — whether a video or playlist plays sound (screens are often silent by design).
- Offline support — for a web page, lets the device cache it so it keeps working through brief network drops. Test it before relying on it.
Platform Notes
Most content types work everywhere, with one exception worth knowing:
- Web page and ZynoForm run on the ZynoDisplay touchscreen, iOS, Android, and Raspberry Pi. They aren't available on TV and streaming players (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, LG, Samsung).
- Because ZynoForm is interactive, it needs touch or a keyboard and mouse. That's built in on the touchscreen, iOS, and Android; on a Raspberry Pi you'll need to attach an input device.
If a type isn't valid for a screen's device, it won't be offered for that screen. See Supported Devices & Platforms.
Advanced
There's also a URL list option for playing media from external web addresses that aren't in your library. Most setups use the Media Library and playlists instead, which give you processing, thumbnails, and reuse.
