Remote Control & Device Management
WebWorkstationSome devices let you control the hardware itself from ZynoSuite — turning the display on or off, rebooting, and more — without anyone being on site. These actions live on the Device tab of a device's Configure window.
Permission Required
You need the Configure Displays permission. See Permissions & Troubleshooting.
Which Devices Support This
Remote device controls depend on the hardware. The Device tab only appears for devices that support them:

On every other platform (Apple TV, iOS, Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, LG, Samsung), you still have full control over what plays — defaults, schedules, live overrides, and playback controls — there just aren't hardware actions like reboot or power.
The Controls
On a supported device, open it from the Devices list and select the Device tab:
- Turn display on / off — power the connected screen on or off. On the Raspberry Pi this uses the TV's HDMI‑CEC power control.
- Reboot (ZynoDisplay touchscreen) — restart the device.
- Wi‑Fi settings (ZynoDisplay touchscreen) — open the network settings on the device so it can be put on a different network.
- LED ring (ZynoDisplay touchscreen) — set the color of the LED ring around the screen, using a preset or a custom color.
The device must be connected for a control to take effect. If it's offline, bring it back online first — see Status & Monitoring.
TIP
To turn screens off overnight and back on in the morning automatically, you don't need to do it by hand — schedule a blank screen for off‑hours instead. See Scheduling & Dayparting.
Everyday Playback Control
Resetting a screen, jumping through a playlist, and pushing a one‑off message are available for any connected device, on any platform, and are covered in Live Overrides & Playback Controls. To run an action across many devices at once, see Bulk Actions.
Common Issues
| Problem | What To Check |

| There's no Device tab | That device doesn't support remote hardware controls — only the ZynoDisplay touchscreen and Raspberry Pi do. |
| A control does nothing | The device must be connected. Confirm it's online in Status & Monitoring. |
| The display won't power on via a TV | HDMI‑CEC must be enabled on the TV for power control to work. |
