Set Up ZynoDisplay on LG TV (webOS)
WebWorkstationZynoDisplay runs on LG smart TVs running webOS. Install the player from the LG Content Store, register the screen, then turn off the power‑saving features — especially the 4‑hour auto power off — so your content stays on around the clock.
Before You Begin
- The LG TV is set up and connected to your network.
- The screen has reliable power and internet.
- You have the Register Device permission in ZynoSuite. See Permissions & Troubleshooting.
TIP
These steps are for standard LG consumer TVs. LG also sells a dedicated digital‑signage line (webOS Signage / SuperSign) with its own setup.
1. Install the App
- Press Home, then open the LG Content Store.
- Search for ZynoDisplay and install it.
- Open ZynoDisplay once it installs.
2. Register the Screen
On first launch the app shows a 9‑digit registration code. Enter it in ZynoSuite to claim the screen — see Registering a Device. Once registered, the screen pulls down whatever content you assign it.
3. Change These Settings (Keep It Always-On)
Turn off Auto Power Off
This is the important one. LG TVs turn off after 4 hours of no remote activity. A signage screen never gets remote input, so without this change the TV powers off every four hours.
- Open Settings, then General.
- Find Timers (sometimes under System or Energy Saving) and select Auto Power Off.
- Set it to Off.
WARNING
The 4‑hour auto power off is on by default on most LG TVs. If an LG screen keeps switching off roughly every four hours, this is almost always the cause.
Turn off the screen saver and energy saving
- Turn off the Screen Saver (shown after a static image) under Settings → General.
- Set Energy Saving (under Settings → Picture, sometimes called Eco mode) to Off so the picture doesn't dim.
- If your model has No Signal Auto Off, you can leave it — the screen is always showing content.
TIP
webOS menus are reorganized between versions, so the exact path to Auto Power Off, Screen Saver, and Energy Saving may differ from the steps above.
Remote Controls
LG webOS TVs do not support ZynoDisplay's remote device controls. You still get full content control — assigning content, scheduling, and live overrides — from ZynoSuite. See Remote Control & Management.
Common Issues
| Problem | What To Check |
|---|---|
| The TV powers off every ~4 hours | Turn off Auto Power Off (Settings → General → Timers). This is the most common cause. |
| A screen saver appears over the content | Turn off the Screen Saver under Settings → General. |
| The picture dims on its own | Set Energy Saving (Settings → Picture) to Off. |
| Can't find ZynoDisplay in the store | Search the LG Content Store for ZynoDisplay. |
| The registration code is rejected | Re‑check all 9 digits against the code on the screen. See Registering a Device. |
