The Talk module is ZynoSuite's unified business communications system. Make and receive phone calls through the built-in softphone, review call history and recordings with AI-powered transcription and summarization, manage voicemail, hold SMS conversations, send and receive faxes, and generate communication reports — all from within ZynoSuite.

Permission Required

Talk access is managed on a per-number and per-extension basis. An administrator must grant your user access to specific phone numbers or extensions in the Talk Numbers and Talk Endpoints admin settings.

Getting There

Open Talk from the Home Launcher or the Quick Action Bar (QAB). The Talk interface uses a tabbed navigation with the following sections:

• Calls — Call history and CDR (Call Detail Records)
• Voicemail — Voicemail inbox with playback and transcription
• SMS — Text message conversations
• Fax — Sent and received fax documents
• Reports — Communication analytics and usage reports

Unread indicators appear on tabs when there are new voicemails, unread SMS messages, or unreviewed faxes.

Number & Extension Selector

At the top of the Talk interface, a selector lets you switch between the phone numbers and extensions you have access to. All call history, voicemail, SMS, and fax views are filtered to the currently selected number or extension. If you have access to multiple numbers, you can switch context at any time.

Calls

View your complete call history and make outbound calls with the integrated softphone.

• Call History (CDR) — Browse call detail records showing inbound, outbound, and missed calls with timestamps, duration, and caller information.
• Making Calls — Place outbound calls using the softphone or by clicking a contact's phone number.
• Softphone — Use the built-in softphone for VoIP calling directly from ZynoSuite. Supports hold, mute, DTMF tones, and more.
• Call Transfer — Transfer active calls to another extension or external number.
• Call Recording — Access recordings of calls when call recording is enabled on a number.
• AI Transcription & Summarization — Recorded calls are automatically transcribed and summarized by AI, making it easy to review conversations without listening to the full recording.

ZynoTalk Mobile

ZynoTalk Mobile is a dedicated calling app that provides a streamlined VoIP calling experience on your phone. It runs independently from the main ZynoSuite Mobile app and is optimized for making and receiving business calls on the go. See ZynoTalk Setup and ZynoTalk Calling for details.

Voicemail

Listen to and manage voicemail messages left by callers.

• Voicemail — Browse voicemail messages with playback controls, caller ID, and timestamps.
• Voicemail Transcription — Voicemail messages are automatically transcribed to text so you can read them at a glance without listening.

SMS

Send and receive text messages from your business phone numbers.

• SMS Conversations — View and participate in threaded SMS conversations. Send messages to contacts or external numbers.

Fax

Send and receive fax documents digitally through ZynoSuite.

• Fax — Manage inbound and outbound faxes, view received fax documents, and send new faxes.

Notifications

• Notifications — Configure how you are notified of incoming calls, new voicemails, and SMS messages.

Reports

Analyze communication patterns and usage.

• Reports — Generate reports on call volume, duration, response times, and more. Filter by date range, number, and extension.

Administration

Talk configuration is managed in the admin area.

• Talk Numbers — Manage phone numbers, configure call routing, and control which users have access to each number.
• Talk Endpoints — Configure SIP endpoints, extensions, and user assignments.
