Discounts
WebWorkstationMobileDiscounts reduce the price of an item or an entire sale. ZynoSuite supports predefined discounts configured by administrators and custom discounts entered at checkout.
Permission Required
You need Salespoint access and the appropriate ZynoSales discount permission. Restricted predefined discounts may require broader discount permission.
Discount An Item
- In ZynoSales > Salespoint, select an item in the cart.
- Select Discount.
- Choose a predefined discount, or leave the selector on Custom Discount.
- Choose %, Flat, or Override.
- Enter the amount.
- Add an optional explanation.
- Select Save.
The preview shows Original, Discount, and New Price before you save.
Discount The Whole Sale
- Add items to the cart.
- Open the cart actions menu.
- Select Discount Sale.
- Choose the discount type and amount.
- Select Save.
Sale-level discounts apply to the sale total rather than one line item.
Discount Types
| Type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| % | Reduces the price by a percentage |
| Flat | Reduces the price by a dollar amount |
| Override | Sets the new price to the amount entered |
The discount must reduce the price by more than zero and cannot make the result negative.
Predefined Discounts
If predefined discounts are configured, they appear in the discount selector. Some predefined discounts lock the type and amount so staff cannot change them.
Product-specific predefined discounts appear only when they apply to the selected item. Sale-level discounts show only predefined discounts that are not product-specific.
Remove A Discount
- For an item, select the item and choose Remove Discount.
- For a sale-level discount, open the cart actions menu and choose Remove Discount.
Common Issues
| Problem | What To Check |
|---|---|
| A predefined discount is missing | It may be restricted, product-specific, or unavailable for the current item or sale-level discount |
| Type or amount cannot be changed | The predefined discount locks those fields |
| Discount cannot be saved | Confirm the discount is greater than zero and does not make the price negative |
| Staff cannot use a discount | Check ZynoSales discount permissions and restricted discount settings |
